Introducation

The certificate for the Missouri School Plant Manager is awarded on proven accomplishments and/or experience and the applicant meeting the required criteria. 

The proven accomplishments and/or experience of an individual awarded this certificate are recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Missouri School Plant Managers Association.

The recommendation for certificate approval to the Missouri School Plant Managers Association is reviewed by a committee of five board members of the Missouri School Plant Managers Association.  This committee will be appointed by the MSPMA board president, with the committee members serves a two year term.  If a committee member must be replaced, the replacement will finish the term and could be reappointed for the next two year term.

The intent of the certificate is to recognize the successful performance and the time invested by individuals committed to the profession of school facility management.  This recognition should encourage the recipient to continue their career as a successful facilities manager.

Criteria

Employed 5 years or more by an educational facility in the state of Missouri. 

Performed the duties under the title Director of Buildings & Grounds, Facilities Manager or equal title five years or more. (This also would include a superintendent or equal title).

Be a member of the Missouri School Plant Managers Association 3 years or more.

A letter of recommendation from the Superintendent of the school district where the applicant is employed.  If the applicant is the Superintendent, the letter of recommendation must come from the President of the school board where the Superintendent is employed.

An applicant will be required to fill in all spaces.  The application must be signed by the Superintendent of the school district where you are employed.  If you are a Superintendent, the application must be signed by the Board President of the school district where you are employed.
